What Qualifications, Qualities and Experience Do I Need to Work as a Dental Nurse?
To work as a Dental Nurse in the UK, you’ll need:
- A recognised qualification such as the NEBDN National Diploma in Dental Nursing or equivalent (e.g. NVQ Level 3 in Dental Nursing)
- GDC registration as a Dental Care Professional (DCP)
- Recent UK dental nursing experience (minimum 6–12 months preferred)
- Knowledge of infection prevention, chairside assistance, and clinical governance
