Associate Dentist – Derby

Derby | 1 Day per Week | £400 per Day Locum | £14 per UDA Permanent | Locum to Permanent

Flourish Medical is recruiting for an Associate Dentist to join an established dental practice in Derby on a locum-to-permanent basis.

This is an NHS-focused Dentist position working 1 day per week, initially offering a guaranteed £400 per day during the locum period before moving into a permanent Associate Dentist position at £14 per UDA.

You will be taking on an established NHS patient list with consistent demand, making this an excellent opportunity for a Dentist who enjoys NHS dentistry and is looking for a stable, long-term position without committing to multiple days per week.

There is also some opportunity to provide private treatment where appropriate, with a 50% private split, although the role will predominantly consist of NHS dentistry.

Practice hours are 9:00am–5:00pm.

Please note: GDC registration, an active NHS Performer Number, previous UK dental experience and the right to work in the UK are essential. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Pay & Hours

Initial locum period:

  • £400 per day

Permanent position:

  • £14 per UDA
  • 1 day per week
  • 50% private split on any private treatment provided

About the role

This position is particularly suited to a Dentist who is confident providing NHS dentistry and is looking for a consistent patient list and a long-term Associate position.

The successful Dentist will predominantly provide NHS treatment, managing an established patient list and delivering high-quality general dentistry.

You'll initially join the practice on a £400 per day locum arrangement, giving both you and the practice the opportunity to ensure the position is the right long-term fit before transitioning onto a permanent £14 per UDA contract.

While this is primarily an NHS role, there is scope to provide private treatment where appropriate, paid at a 50% private split.

What we're looking for

To be considered for this Associate Dentist position, you will need:

  • GDC registration as a Dentist
  • Active NHS Performer Number
  • Previous UK dental experience
  • Experience providing NHS dentistry
  • Right to work in the UK without sponsorship
  • Valid DBS or willingness to obtain one
  • Confidence managing a busy NHS patient list
  • Excellent patient care and communication skills
  • Strong clinical standards
  • Professional and reliable approach

Your role

As an Associate Dentist, you will:

  • Provide high-quality NHS dental treatments
  • Manage an established NHS patient list
  • Conduct examinations, diagnoses and treatment planning
  • Provide private treatment where appropriate
  • Build strong relationships with patients
  • Maintain accurate and compliant clinical records
  • Work collaboratively with Dental Nurses and the wider practice team
  • Maintain high standards of NHS compliance and clinical governance

Location

The practice is based in Derby and is commutable from Allenton, Alvaston, Littleover, Mickleover, Chellaston, Sinfin, Borrowash, Long Eaton, Burton upon Trent and surrounding areas across Derbyshire.
