Flourish Medical is recruiting for an Associate Dentist to join a long-established independent dental practice in Northampton.
This is a permanent opportunity offering £13 per UDA, flexible working days and no UDA targets or performance KPIs. You’ll take on a predominantly NHS patient list while having the opportunity to develop private dentistry within an established practice offering a broad range of private, cosmetic and advanced treatments.
The position would particularly suit a Dentist completing Foundation Training in 2026 who is looking for their first Associate Dentist role within a supportive independent environment. Applications are also welcomed from experienced UK Associate Dentists looking for greater clinical autonomy and flexibility.
As an independent practice, Associates are given genuine clinical freedom, including choice of laboratories and materials, allowing you to develop your own way of working without corporate restrictions.

An excellent first Associate Dentist position
Moving from Foundation Training into your first Associate position is a big career step, and finding the right clinical environment can make a significant difference.
This practice offers the opportunity to establish yourself as an independent clinician while having an
experienced clinical team around you for guidance and support when needed. You’ll have an established NHS patient base, without UDA targets or performance KPIs, giving you the opportunity to build your confidence and experience while developing your own approach to patient care.
Importantly, you’ll still have genuine clinical autonomy. As an independent practice, Associates have freedom over their choice of laboratories and materials, rather than working within a heavily prescribed corporate model.
Develop your private dentistry
Although the incoming Associate will initially work with a predominantly NHS patient list, the practice has an established private offering and provides a broad range of general, restorative, cosmetic and advanced dentistry.
This creates opportunities for an Associate who wants to gradually develop their private patient base and clinical interests alongside their NHS work.
What we’re looking for:
• GDC registration as a Dentist
• Completing Dental Foundation Training in 2026 or already working as a UK Associate Dentist
• NHS Performer Number or due to receive one following Foundation Training
• Right to work in the UK without sponsorship
• Valid DBS or willingness to obtain one
• Excellent patient care and communication skills
• Commitment to high clinical standards
• Desire to continue developing clinically
• Professional and reliable approach
Your role:
• Provide high-quality NHS and private dental treatments
• Manage an established NHS patient list
• Conduct examinations, diagnoses and treatment planning
• Build strong, long-term patient relationships
• Develop private treatment opportunities where appropriate
• Maintain accurate and compliant clinical records
• Work collaboratively with Dental Nurses and the wider clinical team
• Maintain high standards of NHS compliance and clinical governance
Location
The practice is based in Northampton and is commutable from Wellingborough, Kettering, Daventry, Towcester, Rushden, Milton Keynes, Rugby and surrounding areas across Northamptonshire.
